Curtiss-Wright Launches JC9000 Joystick Controller
New Electronic Joystick Controller Designed to Mimic Hydraulic Alternatives

CHRISTCHURCH, U.K. – March 18th, 2026 – Curtiss-Wright today announced the launch of the brand-new JC9000 joystick controller. Built from 40+ years of engineering excellence by Curtiss-Wright Industrial in the off-highway market, the JC9000 offers extremely high mechanical strength for very heavy-duty off-highway vehicle applications and is designed with an operating life of 10-million full cycles to minimize cost of ownership.
Featuring a centering mechanism that is designed to mimic the movement and feel of a traditional hydraulic joystick, the Curtiss-Wright JC9000 ensures seamless integration and minimal operator impact when changing from hydraulic to electronic machine control systems. A new ergonomic, multi-function grip – available with left- or right-hand grip options – with a robust soft-touch outer coating has also been developed to provide flexibility of machine functions and maximum operator comfort during extended hours of use. The grip, which is connected to the base joystick through a second connector, can be replaced if damaged or a system upgrade is required. The JC9000, which features above panel mounting for easier installation, is also available as a base-only model.
The high shaft pivot point gives the joystick controller exceptional strength, while a minimal under-panel depth allows for quick and simple retrofitting or replacement. Additionally, each half axis of the JC9000 features an independent operating angle and spring force feature, enabling optimal configuration for any OEM operating system.
Hall-effect sensing eliminates contact wear and provides safety functionality via dual outputs, which are analyzed and safety-checked to give a product which is fully PLd compliant to ISO EN 13489. On-board CAN J1939 or CANopen electronics make for easy system integration; with electronic robustness further assured through the sealing of the internal PCB and connector to IP68 rating, making it suitable for outdoor use.
To summarize, the brand-new JC9000 joystick enters the market offering ultimate hydraulic feel, 100+ configuration options, and complete compliance with 2027 EN ISO 13849 standards for functional safety.
